When Colle Davis lived in San Diego, California, before moving his headquarters and research center to Latin America, this was his' 10 foot x 16 foot Portable Farms(TM) Aquaponics System which offers 40 square feet of grow tray space, and a 200 gallon fish tank.
This small farm produced
500 vegetables and 200 pounds of fish per year.

This gravel-filled grow tray is currently growing celery, bib lettuce, purple cabbage, bok choy, yellow squash, zucchini, and Swiss chard. These plants are currently only five weeks old.

The friendly Tilapia fish swim between Colle's fingers. These fish are 3" in length.
They will ready to harvest when they're 11" in length (6 1/2 to 9 months).

Happy Tilapia, smiling for the camera. They look like koi fish, but they're not, they're Tilapia. This California Hybrid Male Tilapia comes in many many colors. If you look closely, you'll see gray, black, spotted and peach colored fish.
