* If you live in a harsh climate and you choose to keep your Portable Farms™ Aquaponics System outside, then your choice for a greenhouse structure is a vital consideration for your climatic needs, the esthetics you'd like to archive and the cost and labor to assemble the structure. You may also choose to put your Portable Farms™ Aquaponics System indoors to protect your fish and plants from any extreme temperatures. For example, you can put your Portable Farms™ Aquaponics System in a garage or a barn and rely on grow lights instead of sunshine for your plants.

One of the reason we use Tilapia in Portable Farms™ Aquaponics System is because Tilapia fingerlings are available year round. Catfish fingerlings are only available in the months of May, June and July. And, Tilapia are a warm-water fish which is vital to the optimal growing conditions of the plants within the farm. Our plants like warm 75 - 80 degree F water on their 'feet' instead of cold water. But then, who wouldn't?
